Hometown: I grew up in Carroll County, Maryland, but lived in North Carolina for the last decade before relocating to Winchester!

My favorite spots around SU: As a former theatrical and dance stage manager, I love any time I am able to sneak away to Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre. Supporting emerging artists is an initiative that is very important to me, and being able to see Conservatory productions is a unique aspect of the SU community.

What makes SU special to me: Shenandoah University is small by design, but growing every day. With over 200 areas of study to choose from, there is truly something of interest for any student who is seeking a holistic education rooted in curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. SU’s main campus allows students to enjoy the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley while still being near major metropolitan areas, such as Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland.

My advice: If you are looking at studying a specific degree or specialty while in college, be sure to read the biographies of the faculty who teach within that department. This will not only help you feel more confident when putting together your application, but is also a great indicator if the university can help you achieve your post-grad career goals and develop connections within your industry.
